Where Was God?

In the aftermath of the tragedy in Connecticut, I’ve noticed something about
many people in terms of how they think about God. When times are well, we rarely think about
God. After all, if I am doing well, why
do I need God? But when times are bad,
we think God must be bad for allowing it to happen. It seems that many people are unwilling to
see God no matter what circumstances they face.
I’m not sure yet what to take from this observation, but I found it
interesting.

I get what is being said here - I do, but I also agree with the commentary that was typed over the video. Did you know that was on here? I never felt like God was removed - I just knew a challenge was presented. I needed to seek Him more and pray more. There are no simple answers here. We can only pray for His peace.
I would say the only thing Mr. Huckabee was missing was a call to Christians to stand up. The corporate "we" includes those who sit on the sidelines apathetic about the removal of Christian values from their own homes. It should begin with our children-be intentional in their lives. They are not side-effects of a physical act, they are the future leaders of our world, and parents have been tasked by God with the mission of teaching them. If we raise a generation of Christ-like adults, "we" will no longer be interested in removing God from anything.
Hannah, I guess what I liked most about this clip is what he said at the end when he talked about where God was in the tragedy (ie He showed up in the teachers protecting, etc).
