Developing a Heart for God

There was a Pharisee, an expert in the law, who posed the following question to Jesus: “Which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.”

This poses a great challenge for us. We are to love God with all we are – all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind. Loving God with our entire heart is a very complex subject. In fact, we could get so caught up in the overall subject that we miss all the small parts of life where we are not loving Him. As with most complex subjects, we can better understand them by digesting them in smaller chunks. What I want to do over the next few weeks is to talk about different areas of life that we can surrender to God. Be sure to check back for some specific areas of life and what it looks like to develop a heart for God.
